Bad Experience
- - One-inch trim on a precision bob cut.
- - The cut was ruined and uneven.
- - No manager onsite; avoid Magnolia Shop and go to another salon before Christmas.
Went in for a one inch trim on a precision Bob cut . She ruined the existing cut .
Uneven all the way around! I have to go to another salon to hopefully salvage my hair before Christmas . If she wasnt proficient at this skill she should have said so .
No manager onsite to report mishap ! Do not go to Magnolia Shop!

Verified ReviewerSevere Hair Damage & $1,200 in Failed Repairs—No Accountability from Fantastic Sams
- - I was a loyal customer who trusted routine hair care.
- - Lauren at Cypress Lakes gave an uneven, damaged haircut; no resolution.
My July 24 appointment at Fantastic Sams San Carlos caused severe chemical and physical hair damage. Despite prior complaints, the salon’s response was inadequate.
I’ve spent over $1,200 on emergency treatments and can’t use the paid extensions.
A licensed professional documented the harm. I’ve demanded $447.18 in reimbursement and will pursue arbitration or legal action if unresolved.
The salon admitted fault, but offered no resolution.
Hoping to recover, I spent hundreds of dollars on deep conditioning treatments, bond-repair formulas, and extensions. I explored every avenue to avoid cutting my hair, especially as I approached my 60th birthday.
Eventually, I turned to Jodi at the San Carlos Park location. She genuinely tried to repair the damage during our first visit, applying every treatment option we could think of. But the extent of Lauren's damage made restoration impossible.
The only remaining solution was a drastic cutmy hair reduced to barely ¼ inch.
To celebrate my milestone birthday, Id provided a specific reference photo of the look I hoped for. Instead, I received poor-quality extensions that began falling out while I traveled for work. This led to panic, embarrassment, and unprofessional appearances during key engagements.
In addition to the emotional toll:
I was charged for foils I never received.
I did not receive a receipt for services.
My unused extensions were kept and not returned.
My customer account was eventually deactivated.
Multiple outreach attempts to Fantastic Sams have gone unanswered.
At this point, Ive spent over $1,200 trying to repair the damage. The financial burden has been overwhelmingand the emotional distress even more so.
This isn't just a case of poor service; it's misrepresentation, negligence, and an outright refusal to stand by their work.
Advice to Future Customers: Fantastic Sams may offer convenience, but my experience reveals serious risks. From lack of accountability to poor quality control, I urge anyone considering their services to proceed with caution.
User's recommendation: I strongly urge future customers to proceed with caution when considering Fantastic Sams. My experience exposed not only poor results, but a complete lack of accountability and customer support. What began as a routine haircut led to emotional distress, financial strain, and lasting hair damage. Please research stylists thoroughly and prioritize salons with consistent quality, transparency, and professionalism.

Verified Reviewer |Appointment not honored
- - I booked an appointment for a set time.
- - A walk-in was taken during my appointment.
- - Two stylists were idle and my appointment was delayed.
I make an appointment for a certain time, and as I am walking through the door, the stylist takes a walk-in at my appointment time. There were two other stylists not doing anything, and my appointment gets put back.
Why make an appointment? We are all busy, but to disrespect me and my appointment time is highly unprofessional.
- Do not honor appointment times
Preferred solution: Apology
App sucks
- - The app changes the salon after I select one.
- - Booking redirects to another salon and loops back to the app, with calls going unanswered.
The app sucks. It changes the salon on me after I find the right one.
I go to book and then it changes the salon on me. Then, it can’t get a contact with anybody. You call the salon, and nobody answers. It sends you to the same app, which goes in a circle.
The app is supposed to be made to make things easier. This is really extremely difficult.
- Service goog
- Appointment making is impossible
Preferred solution: App sucks and your entire appointment system sucks
User's recommendation: Fix the app

- - I had a noon appointment, but a later-arriving customer was served first.
- - A staff member told me to leave; I won't return after 10 years.
I made an appointment for noon today and was passed over by someone who walked in ten minutes after me. At 12:20 I was asked if I was ready by another employee,I replied I've been ready.
And I was not happy about being passed over.
The rude woman said she didn't deserve my criticism and told me to leave. I've been going to the store for 10 years, never again!!!

Verified ReviewerManager at van buren, arkansas branch
- - Went in for more highlights; sat 4 hours, paid $200.
- - She hid the existing highlights with toner.
- - Complained; no help offered; won't return after 15 years.
Went in for more highlights and less brass. Sat for 4 hours, paid $200, and she literally hid the highlights I already had with toner.
She said it will lighten every time I wash my hair. I'm 47 and have been doing the same thing with my hair since I was 21. I've never in my life had someone color over my highlights when the point of the visit was to lighten! I called to complain; she didn't offer to help.
She was just right. I won't go back, and I've been going there for like 15 years now.
Ridiculous. I have pics from before and after she did my hair.

- - Corporate was unresponsive after two calls.
- - Eyebrow work burned forehead; red marks and bleeding.

Verified ReviewerEmployee issue
- - Don't bring minors here; a 16-year-old was texted by a 56-year-old stylist.
- - The owner did not follow up; the reviewer will report the franchise.
Dont recommend sending your minor children here. My son went as usual to get a haircut and right afterwards was text messaged by the stylest.
A 56 year old male who thought it was appropriate to tell him he was cute and ask if he was gay or straight. 56. My son is 16. I went in to complain turns out he's the MANAGER.
I tried to find corp numbers they are a franchise found the website requested a call. The owner contacted me I told her of the situation I sent her the text was told she wanted to confront him face to face since he's worked there 6yrs and to give her a few days and she'd let me know what happened. Zero communication since. He was very quick and comfortable texting my kid so he's had to have done it before and clearly didn't mind texting from his person cell which gave me his full name and address.
I wouldn't use them again period much less if you have children. Not only did he do this but given the owner apparently did nothing about it when at the very least he shouldn't have his job anymore speaks towards her as well. I'll be contacting the corporate and reporting her as a franchise owner as well.
His name is Kevin so if anyone uses him as a stylest I highly recommend you don't. I placed this review on Google and it's being silenced.

- - A 16-year-old got haircut.
- - 56-year-old stylist messaged he’s cute and asked if he was gay or straight.
- - The manager is in charge, making complaints hard.
My minor child went got a hair cut once home his stylist messaged him telling him he's cute & asked if he was gay or straight. The man is 56 and my child is every bit of 16.
And the 56 year old is the manager so I can't even complain directly to the store given he's in charge of it. I'm sickened by what he messaged my child.

- - Neck pain after wash, cut, and balayage.
- - Quoted 116 but charged 216.
- - She called it ombre instead of balayage.
- - Highlight starting at scalp was requested.
Its such a long story, but I had a horrible horrible experience. Im still in neck pain from my wash and cut and balayage although she kept calling it ombre but I told her I wanted Bali.
She overcharged me when I called. She quoted me 116 after I explained in detail what I wanted done when I got up to the counter to pay, she said 216 I want every single dime back!!!
I told her three times make sure the highlights or whatever she wanted to call them because she refused to call them balayage they better start at my scalp. Do you see that picture!

Verified Reviewer |Complaint
- - Hair damaged by a stylist; seeking refund.
- - Complaint filed; no reply.
- - Deep conditioning denied; rude stylist; may file BBB.
I would like to leave zero stars for review. My hair was destroyed by a stylist and I would like a refund.
The same exact thing happened to another client who left a review. With the same stylist as mine. I filed a complaint under Fantastic Sams website and have received no reply. The owner did the bare minimum to make up for it.
They put some condition in my hair and set me under a dryer. It did nothing for my hair . They have a $140 deep conditioning treatment that I requested but I was denied. Im sure it doesnt cast a whole lot for the treatment on their end.
Thats the last they could do . The stylist was unbelievably rude to me insulting me on 3 different occasions. They dont really want to make up for it if theyre not offering the best possible treatment for my hair! Devastating experience.
Terrible business practices! I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if I have to. Then theres the fact that no one has gotten back to me regarding my complaint.i hope to hear back from you soon. Oh and the corporate number that comes up on google is actually the number for a small salon in Alabama.
Its the wrong number. They said they get calls all the time looking for Fantastic Sams corporate office.

- - Went to salon #8706 on 4/19/24 at 11:00 am; I showed what I wanted.
- - Hair is fried and perm is wrong; billed $110 including $25 trim; cameras in salon.
Dear sirs on 4/19/24 I went to salon # 8706. At 11:00am.
I showed the young lady what I wanted. She tested my hair and said it would perm just fine with no damage. My hair is fried! And wrong perm.
She assured me in a few days it would be fine. Ive only used water and silk on my hair and its ruined!! There are cameras in the salon so you can see where I showed her what I wanted and expected.
I was charged 25.00 for a trim! Total of 110.00 for fried hair!!

Verified Reviewer |Unsatisfied service
- - Refused color and cut; only offered a consultation by Angela.
- - Rude treatment in front of customers; requests refund of a $180 gift certificate.
First, I would like to say that at finding a number for Fantastic Sams besides a local store is just crazy second sending a message or email to Fantastic Sams. Why can’t you get a copy of a email that you sent to somebody to prove that you sent it My fiancé is sick as he is he has stage four cancer.
He bought me this gift certificate for my birthday as sick as he is after having chemotherapy and radiation both in the same day he took the gift certificate into Fantastic Sams and talk to the manager which is Angela, which is also the woman I was supposed to get my hair done with and she just refused to give our money back. She said for us to call the store the next day, there’s nobody in charge at that store but her to try to find the owner of that property is ridiculous but I requested my $180 back from the corporate office and I have yet to get a response from them. I will never use Fantastic Sams again not only because the bad service that I got at Fantastic Sams not just this time but also the time before , but also now Howell, the head office has responded which is no response at all. Makes me wonder how businesses stay in business anymore with service like this more people need to speak out and refuse to go to places like this.
I was so tempted walking out that day to ask the people sitting there if they wanted to buy my gift certificate for half the price because I just had enough , I would hope that some of these people saw the service that I was getting and they would walk out themselves but they didn’t. I sat in the parking lot. Trying to calm down for probably 10 minutes before I left and everybody just still sat in there.
I also wanted to take the time to go back inside and give her a piece of my mind, but I was so upset I didn’t , I’m finally now starting to get over the idea of what happened and how disrespected I was treated and how they can get away with treating people like that especially the manager. What is she teaching all the other employees
I told Angela I would have my friend take the pictures and I would send it to her which I did and I still have the pictures I sent in my phone. The appointment was set for today at 11 which I arrived at 10:55 and she was in the middle of a hair cut. She proceeded to talk loudly and rudely to me from across the store from her station which is very inappropriate considering there was many customers in there waiting to be seen. She proceeded to tell me she would only do a consultation only because I didnt send her the photo and I didnt confirm on Monday for the appointment which I was not aware of such a policy nor did she request a phone call.
She called my friend instead of me to see where the photos were instead of calling me, which I know she had my number because shes messaged me 3 times since I turned and left asking me to come in for a color. Honestly, I was embarrassed and Im so angry to be talked to and treated like that and especially in front of other people. This is the second time I was treated rudely in there but by a different employee. The first time was before Christmas and I specifically asked for Angela and the girl only proceeded to tell me how busy she was and she would take me but during the process of trying to make the appointment she commented on my hair looking the way it does because Im not using good enough products and I am not taking care of my hair or washing it the proper way.
I am 55 years old and I spent good money on my products that way my hair stays healthy. I am not a little kid that needs to be scolded for not doing what she thinks I should be doing. Once is usually bad enough for me to say Im never going back but twice is ridiculous. I received a $180 gift certificate for my hair appointment for my birthday from my fiancé, he is now diagnosed with stage four cancer and thought I would schedule a home care visit so I can get my hair done.
It was a lot of trouble to get this appointment done and walked out of there with the same hair and a gift certificate I dont want. I would appreciate it if I can be told where I can go to get the money back for the gift. I have the receipt and the card . I dont want to get information on another store, I just want my money for the card.
I have been getting my hair done with Angela for almost 10 years now and am very sad that I wont be able to get it done by her again. She is very good at her job and loved my hair when it was done but I refuse to be treated like that. Please let me know how we can proceed from here. I always leave reviews for services I receive from businesses, good and bad, I dont want to leave any kind of review at all , so please give me some feedback from this email.

i have not been given a full refund
I went in to get highlights and a haircut. The woman who colored my hair fried it.
Literally, she fried it. When she cut my hair, it was uneven and looked a little choppy. I sat in the chair for 6 hours before she was finally done. I left in tears.
It's the worst color and cut job I've ever seen.
I now also have a ton of breakage and can't fix it for a while due to the severity of the damage. Avoid this place at all costs!
- Charge a lot of money inexperienced hair colorists

Actually i found out that my son lied about this whole thing. He has a crush on her and he lied about this He made an account pretending to be her, and wanted to impress his friends that an older lady is interested in him.
The messages is this your number, and saying that he is cute, were posted by him from another phone. He wanted his friends to think he is cool, and that an older woman is interested in him.
Who are you talking about?
Like you've made an account pretending to be the OP? There is a period at the end of the impersonation account you made.
These are 2 different accounts. Do you think people can't see that?
It is the same person. Both have a period.
Telling you that you are lying is NOT trolling. GROW UP CHILD.
The fact that you want someone fired shows how DISGUSTING you are. But not as DISGUSTING as the gay manager.
I dont think a 56 yr old man/woman making flirty sexual text should be working where they have access to minors. If that makes me disgusting I personally don't care. Him staying there just gives more access.
You are Lying
Ok troll
